PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video correcting device that can effectively perform reproducibility of black-side and white-side signal components. SOLUTION: The video correcting device is equipped with an adder 10 which generates correction data Y_dat by adding an input luminance signal Yin to correction data dc_in obtained by a correction control processing section, and an APL correction processing section including a white-side processing section 11 which inputs the input luminance signal Yin, sets a start point of a gradient for an input signal level of an APL correction processing characteristic chart, and generates a signal Y_siro from a gain of the gradient on a white side where the luminance signal is high, a black-side processing section 12 which inputs the input luminance signal Yin, sets a start point of a gradient for the input signal level of the APL correction processing characteristic chart, and generates a signal Y_kuro from a gain of the gradient on a black side where the luminance signal is low, and a selector 13 which selects the correction data Y_dat, a maximum value of the signal Y_siro and a maximum value of the signal Y_kuro to output an output signal.
