PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding type compact portable communication apparatus with a camera being easily operated and having a high accuracy while ensuring the degree of freedom on design. SOLUTION: A folding type portable telephone 1 has a first box body 3 with a liquid crystal display section 2, a second box body 5 with an operating section 4 and a hinge section 6 connecting these first box body and second box body 5 in a freely folding openable-closeable manner. In the folding type portable telephone 1, the camera 10 towards the outside in the longitudinal direction of the second box body 5 is fitted at the side end section of the hinge section of the second box body 5.
