PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water paint composition having good storage stability as a paint, followable to substrate cracks, and capable of forming even at normal temperature a paint film excellent in paint film properties such as water resistance, weather resistance, alkali resistance and stain resistance, and to provide a method for painting therewith. SOLUTION: The water paint composition comprises a copolymer water-dispersion (A) dispersed with a copolymer particle group having 350-1,500 nm volume-average particle diameter and <2.0 particle diameter distribution, and a sedimentation preventive (B), wherein the paint film formed from the water paint composition has 50-1,000% elongation at break in a condition of 20°C. The method for painting comprises painting the water paint composition. The volume ratio of the copolymer particle group having <300 nm particle diameter in the copolymer water-dispersion (A) is preferably≤30%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
