PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply producing a high quality vinyl chloride-based polymer by performing a suspension polymerization of the vinyl chloride-based monomers in an aqueous medium, while maintaining its productivity and high bulk specific gravity, preventing foaming and without forming fish eyes even on using a method for removing heat with a reflux condenser. SOLUTION: (1) This method for producing the vinyl chloride-based polymer by performing the suspension polymerization of the vinyl chloride-based monomers in the aqueous medium is characterized by preventing reaction liquid from its volume fluctuation by adding water after the starting of the reaction, also performing the additional addition of the vinyl chloride-based monomers at a time point when the conversion rate of the polymerization attains 15-35%. (2) The method for producing the vinyl chloride-based polymer described in (1) is provided by performing the maintenance of the volume of the reaction liquid within 0.9-1.1 V (wherein, V is the volume of the reaction liquid at the time of starting the reaction) range.
