PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label affixing device preventing an adherend article from being stopped, and reliably affixing a label. SOLUTION: The label affixing device comprises: a suction pad 4 to suck and hold a label issued from an issue port 23 of an issuing machine body 2; an advancement/retraction driving unit 3 which supports the suction pad in the direction X orthogonal to the conveying direction X in an advancing/retracting manner, and abuts and affixes the label to an adherend article 41 to be conveyed along a conveying means at the advancement; a rail part 5 to movably support the advancement/retraction driving unit 3 along the conveying direction; and a movement positioning mechanism which moves the advancement/retraction driving unit by a conveying means 40 synchronously with the conveying speed of the adherend article to be conveyed in the conveying direction, allows the label to be sucked and held by the suction pad supported by the advancement/retraction driving unit to the adherend article, affixes the label to the adherend article, and moves the advancement/retraction driving unit so as to return to the issue port of the issuing machine body to issue the label.
