A glove ( 11 ) for protecting a wearer's hand and/or wrist when impacted against a surface, comprises as part of its hand, wrist or forearm cover a single chamber or a series of chambers ( 13, 14 ), which contain fluid or are capable of containing fluid and are arranged so that any fluid flow remains during conventional use of the glove ( 11 ) within the chamber or the series of chambers ( 13, 14 ) and which are located in a position to protect a section of the hand, wrist or forearm by absorbing at least in part the force of the impact.
