<p>A lock mechanism includes a casing with a spring latch assembly disposed in the interior. An actuator controlled hold back member is slideably disposed on the casing to retain the spring latch bolt in a retracted position or to permit unimpeded reciprocation of the spring latch bolt. A dead latch assembly is disclosed wherein the auxiliary bolt thereof has a rod-shaped free end portion that protrudes through the front portion of the casing. The free end portion may be cylindrical and terminate in a rounded nose. In the disclosed embodiments, the spring latch bolt is removable from and reversible on its carrier and can be selected for different lock setbacks. Likewise, the auxiliary bolt can be selectively interchanged. Positional adjusters are disclosed for adjusting setback, and bevel adjusters are disclosed for adjusting bevel between the front plate and the cover plate of the casing.</p> |
