<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical lithium secondary battery improved in battery safety against external pressure. <P>SOLUTION: This cylindrical lithium secondary battery includes: a roll-shaped electrode assembly which is composed by stacking and winding a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate, and a separator provided between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate, and which has a predetermined central space at the center of winding; a core member which is formed of a tubular body having a cut groove formed along the longitudinal direction, having a projection projecting downward at a predetermined length, and is connected to the central space of the electrode assembly; a case having a space for housing the electrode assembly with an upper portion opened; and a cap assembly which is connected to the upper portion of the case so as to seal the case. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
