摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To duplicate optical transmission lines without decreasing a transmittable distance, in a wavelength multiplex optical transmission system using spectral slices. <P>SOLUTION: An AWG 20 slices part of an optical spectrum of an optical signal from a plurality of optical transmission/reception circuits 10 each including an optical transmission apparatus 11 for transmitting the optical signal with a broadband optical spectrum, transmits the sliced signal to an active system optical transmission line 31, slices another part and transmits it to a standby system optical transmission line 32, and an AWG 120 demultiplexes the optical signal from each optical transmission/reception circuit 10 transmitted through either of the active system optical transmission line 31 and the standby system optical transmission line 32 by means of gate optical switches 111, 112 either of which acts to transmit light at all times to each of optical receivers 131 of a plurality of optical transmission/reception circuits 130. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
