<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an Sm-Fe-N based magnetic particle powder capable of obtaining Sm-Fe-N based magnetic particle powder for a bond magnet having an excellent particle distribution and further having a reduced magnetic distribution. <P>SOLUTION: An aqueous solution comprising samarium is added to a water suspension comprising iron oxide particles, thereafter, the pH of the suspension is regulated, heating is performed at 50 to 100°C, the surface of each iron oxide particle is coated with a samarium compound, the obtained samarium compound-coated iron oxide particle powder is subjected to reduction reaction in the temperature range of 500 to 1,000°C in a hydrogen draft, next, the powder after the reduction is mixed with metal Ca, reduction diffusion reaction is performed in an inert gas atmosphere, so as to be Sm-Fe alloy particles, subsequently, nitrogen reaction is performed in a gaseous nitrogen atmosphere, so as to be Sm-Fe-N based magnetic particles, and further, the stages of water washing and drying are performed, thus the Sm-Fe-Ni based magnetic particle powder extremely suitable as the one for a bond magnet can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
