<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact image forming apparatus capable of obtaining a high image quality free from color slippage and performpng a high-speed printing in an intermediate transfer system tandem type color image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus for primarily and successively transferring respective toner images formed on a plurality of image carriers (201, 202, 203 and 204) onto the intermediate transfer belt 200 in primary transfer parts (205, 206, 207 and 212), then, secondarily transferring the toner images transferred onto the intermediate transfer belt in an overlap state to a transfer material 214 in a mass in a secondary transfer part 210, the intermediate transfer belt 200 is driven while being laid to be stretched between a plurality of rollers, among the plurality of rollers, at least one of two rollers (211 and 212) for stretching the intermediate transfer belt 200 so as to form the primary transfer surface for the toner image with reference to the image carrier functions also as a primary transfer bias apply member 212. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
