<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To input intake calories relatively easily and to separately display the amounts of calories taken in as snacks and meals for comparison with the calories consumed. <P>SOLUTION: A user's physical conditions such as height, weight, sex, and age are input and the user's basal metabolism and calories consumed per step are determined. Next, the calories taken in as meals and snacks are input and stored in a storage part. The amount of exercise is also obtained by using a pedometer or the like and stored in the storage part. Using the value of the calories consumed per step and the basal metabolism, the cumulative value of calories consumed during a unit period (e.g., one day, one week, etc.) is calculated on the basis of the amount of exercise. Also, the cumulative value of calories taken in as meals within the unit period is calculated on the basis of the calories taken in as meals. Further, the cumulative value of calories within the unit period is calculated on the basis of the calories taken in as snacks.
