METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING LENS SUBSTRATE, LENS SUBSTRATE, TRANSMISSION TYPE SCREEN, AND REAR PROJECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission type screen and a rear projector with excellent use efficiency of light and giving an image with excellent contrast, to provide a lens substrate to be suitably applied for the transmission type screen and the rear projector, and to provide a method for efficiently manufacturing the lens substrate. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the lens substrate includes: a step of applying a light shielding film forming material, the step of applying a color light-shielding film forming material to the opposite surface of a substrate having a great number of convex lenses to the surface where the convex lenses are formed; and an aperture forming step of irradiating the film forming material with laser light through the surface of the substrate where the convex lenses are formed, so as to remove a part of the film comprising the light-shielding film forming material by the laser light condensed by the convex lenses to form apertures.
