PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent such a trouble that it takes much time for a traveling speed to reach a set speed and an engine stall occurs by the action of an excessive load on an engine and a hydraulic pump when an asphalt finisher is started while a hydraulic actuator for a work device is driven in the asphalt finisher. SOLUTION: This asphalt finisher comprises an overload preventing means to limit the supplied flow to motors 11L, 11R and 12L, 12R to a limit flow or below by outputting a control instruction to a control valve for a screw conveyor while the asphalt finisher is started while the motors 11L and 11R for the feeder conveyor and the motors 12L and 12R for the screw conveyor are driven.
