PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building substrate material with a new constitution capable of preventing the occurrence of the warp, a drying crack of a mortar layer, a separation or a drying crack or the like in a joint section between both building substrate materials even if the building substrate material is exposed to a very bad environment such as high dry, high temperature and high humidity or the like for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The building substrate material 1 is so constituted that a waterproofing membrane 3 on the surface side is provided on the surface of a substrate 2 consisting of a fiber board, an uneven layer 4 is provided on the waterproofing membrane on the surface side and, at the same time, that a waterproofing membrane 5 on the back side is provided on the back of the substrate. Since the waterproofing membrane on the back side is provided to the substrate together with the waterproofing membrane on the surface side, the variation of a water content of the substrate accompanied with the moisture variation of an ambient environment can make it smaller to a certain extent enabling it to be neglected, and since the rate (variation) of dimensional change is an approximately equivalent to the mortar layer applied and formed on the uneven layer, the warp of the building substrate material itself, the drying crack and the separation of the mortar layer or the drying crack or the like in the joint section of both building substrate materials can be prevented.
