PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discover a new medicinal application of a prostaglandin F2αderivative. SOLUTION: As a result of earnest study for discovering the new medicinal application of the prostaglandin F2αderivative, it is discovered that the prostaglandin F2αderivative concentration-dependently inhibits glutamic acid-induced meninges nerve cell death in a rat embryo meninges nerve cell, that is, the prostaglandin F2αderivative exhibits protective effect by directly acting on the meninges nerve cell. Accordingly, the prostaglandin F2αderivative is expected to be useful for prevention or treatment of eye disease associated with the meninges nerve cell disorder. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
