PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper receiver capable of dropping paper sheets to be discharged onto a paper receiving plate in a constantly stable flying manner without being affected by the stacking amount of paper sheets stacked on the paper receiving plate, and aligning the paper sheets well to be stacked on the paper receiving plate. SOLUTION: The paper receiver has a paper receiving plate 22 to stack and hold paper sheets 21 to be discharged from a device in a first stage, and side plate parts 23 arranged on both sides of the paper receiving plate 22 facing each other in the paper sheet width direction orthogonal to the paper sheet discharging direction. Each side plate part 23 comprises a base guide 25 having paper alignment faces 25a facing each other at the interval to meet the paper sheet width, a fixed guide 26 having fixed slidably-contact faces 27 facing each other at a space smaller than the paper sheet width at the upper position of the paper alignment faces 25a of the base guide 25, and a movable guide 28 having movable slidably-contact faces 29 vertically moving along the base guide 25 from the fixed guide 26 and facing each other at the space smaller than the paper sheet width.
