PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically perform failure detection of a remote monitoring device in a real time. SOLUTION: When the remote monitoring devices 6, 7 for monitoring abnormality of elevator control devices 2, 4 are failed, after checking the abnormality of the remote monitoring device, the elevator control device informs the remote monitoring device for monitoring the other elevator control device through a group management control device 5. As such, periodical transmission check between the remote monitoring device and a monitoring center 8 is not required. Further, the abnormality detection of the remote monitoring device can be automatically performed in a real time, the abnormality can be earlier perceived and reported to the monitoring center, enabling immediate response to the abnormal state such as confinement in an elevator car.
