PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dyeing a pearl by which quality level of a pearl is not deteriorated even if "high quality pearl stone" such as a natural pearl or a cultured pearl is dyed with a dye, and the pearl is dyed into a deep color having an orient effect. SOLUTION: The pearl is subjected to an exhaust dyeing in a water bath at a dyeing temperature of 60-95°C which contains at least one kind of a cationic dye, a cationic surfactant, and a nonion surfactant, and has a pH of 5-9. The cationic surfactant is preferably a quaternary ammonium salt surfactant. Further, the nonion surfactant is preferably a polyoxyethylene alkylphenol ether surfactant. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
