PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems, wherein in a seedling transplanter constituted to transplant seedlings in a posture (lateral posture) in which the seedlings are longitudinally directed by seedling planting grasp device, the accuracy of seedling transplantation is reduced as the seedling planting grasp device often scratches and raises a part of vines longitudinally buried long in the soil when it draws back from the soil by moving upward and bringing vines buried in the soil to be exposed from the soil and planted depth of the seedling to be shallow. SOLUTION: In the seedling transplanter constituted as described above, a presser 91 for pressing soil between a position where the seedling planting grasp device 31 is put into the soil and a position where the seedling grasping device 31 releases the grasp of the seedling from above and a moving mechanism which moves backward on the surface 91c pressed by the press device 91 in accordance with the forward movement of the machine body are installed.
