A stator for a linear motor is provided to prevent the performance from being deteriorated due to structure defect of an outer core by integrally engaging plural outer core blocks. A stator includes an outer core(110) having plural outer core blocks(112,114) stacked in a longitudinal direction, and a coil(130) installed on the outer core. The outer core blocks are integrally welded. A gap is formed on a fastened portion of the outer core blocks, through which a welding liquid flows when the welding is carried out. The outer core is composed of two outer core blocks, and the gap of each outer core block is communicated with the gap of the outer core.
