<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a shred food product such as snack and ready-to-serve cereal from whole grain cereals. <P>SOLUTION: A shred cereal of ready-to-eat state and a snack food having sweet and good taste such as corn chips are produced by pelletizing agglomerated whole grain cereal particles of cooked and tempered state. Cooked whole grain cereal such as corn and other gluten-free or low-gluten cereal tend to become hard and rubbery state during cooling and tempering process and after cooking.
