<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight, linear or planar white light source having a uniform luminance distribution even if the number of LEDs is small. <P>SOLUTION: The white light source is made up of a sheet-like light guide body, irradiating light incident from an incident end face of a laminated light guide part made by laminating strip-shaped light guide bodies made by cutting a transparent sheet into strips with a plurality of notches on one end side the transparent sheet with the other part as a sheet-like part, a light source emitting blue-color light or light with a shorter wavelength than the blue-color light from an incident end face into the sheet-like light guide body, a phosphor-containing luminous part, containing phosphor excited by light from the light source and emitting visible light with a wavelength different from the one fitted in contact with an irradiating end face or an irradiating face of the sheet-like part. The white light source is structured such that the white light with light incident from the light source and the light emitted from the phosphor mixed is irradiated from the phosphor-containing light-emitting part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
