<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic honeycomb filter in which at least one sealing portion on an exhaust gas inflowing side is disposed apart from an end surface on the exhaust gas inflowing side, wherein the ceramic honeycomb filter can maintain a high collection efficiency of PM (particulate matter) and be used stably for a long period of time by reliably preventing increase in pressure loss caused by deposition of PM on the ceramic honeycomb filter, and simultaneously preventing a problem of breakage of the ceramic honeycomb filter. <P>SOLUTION: The ceramic honeycomb filter comprises a porous ceramic honeycomb structure of which desired flow path is sealed, wherein at least one sealing portion on the exhaust gas inflowing side is disposed apart from the end surface on the exhaust gas inflowing side, and recess portions are formed at both ends of the sealing portion on the exhaust gas inflowing side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
