PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately correct a position or an angle of placing a container even if the container for housing glass boards arranging from small to large sizes in a longitudinal posture has a dimension error caused in manufacturing. SOLUTION: A position adjusting apparatus for a box-like container for housing the glass boards includes a transfer conveyer in which the transfer conveyer consisting of a plurality of transfer rolls arranged separately on right and left of a transfer direction carries in and out the box-like container, so that the right and left bottoms of the box-like container are supported by the transfer rolls; a front and rear position adjusting mechanism enabling a correction table provided between the transfer conveyers separated in right and left to move forward and backward; a side positioning means for pressing and clamping the container from both side surfaces of a direction perpendicular to the transfer direction of the box-like container, and determining the position of a width direction; and a transfer conveyer elevating/lowering means for lowering the transfer conveyers to place the box-like container on the transfer conveyer on the correction table. The apparatus enables to adjust the placing position of the container, so that the glass boards can be loaded in grooves of the container placed on the correction table.
