<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an application unit having a simple structure and capable of rapidly correcting a defective part; and to provide a pattern correction device. <P>SOLUTION: In this pattern correction device, an application needle fixing plate 25 is positioned at a predetermined position in waiting, and an application needle tip part 14a is immersed into a correction liquid 13. In application, the application needle fixing plate 25 is lowered to project the application needle tip part 14a from a hole 19a of the bottom of a vessel 19 and the correction liquid 13a is attached to the application needle tip part 14a. Then, this application unit 5 is lowered and the application needle tip part 14a is brought into contact with a defective part 15a of a board 15 to apply the correction liquid 13a to the defective part 15a.
