PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a red light-emitting element having a long lifetime, high efficiency, and high-color-purity light emission. SOLUTION: The red-light emitting element has at least a light-emitting layer between its anode and its cathode, and emits light by electrical energy. Furthermore, the light-emitting layer contains a diketopyrro[3,4-c]pyrrole derivative of a specific structure, and contains a compound or the metal complex thereof which has a pyromethene skeleton of a specific structure.
