PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a home network system and an operation control method for home network, capable of reducing the load to a server by enabling exchange of information between equipment and a control terminal connected to a home network without through the server. SOLUTION: In the home network 10 having the server 20, the equipment 40 and the control terminal 30 connected thereto, the equipment 40 is conformable to a communication protocol and an HTTP protocol. The equipment 40 generates a display screen/operation menu screen to the control terminal 30, is directly controlled by the HTTP protocol from the control terminal 30, and reports the control result to the server 20 using the normally used communication protocol.
