PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for judging whether or not a substance to be examined is an ABC transporter substrate in high sensitivity and in high precision. SOLUTION: The method for judging an ABC transporter substrate comprises (1) a process for preparing a proteoliposome containing an ABC transporter having≥90% purity and a sterol as a film constituent component, (2) a process for reacting the proteoliposome obtained by the process (1) with an ATP (adenosine triphosphate) in the presence of a substance to be examined and in the absence of a substance to be examined, respectively and (3) a process in which when the amount of the ATP hydrolyzed by the reaction in the presence of the substance to be examined in the process (2) is substantially changed in comparison with the amount of the ATP hydrolyzed by the reaction in the absence of the substance to be examined, the substance to be examined is judged to be an ABC transporter substrate.
