The method involves magnetizing a test body by using a magnetic field up to a saturation magnetization. An end value of a residual magnetization is determined and compared with a given threshold value. De-magnetization of the test body is iteratively repeated with a counter field of adjusted force, which is determined on the basis of the end value of the magnetization, when exceeding a threshold value.
