<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily generate pseudo random numbers by means of biological information. <P>SOLUTION: In a pseudo random number generation apparatus, data in accordance with changes caused by a living body and changes in an image pickup element itself are extracted from image signals output from the image pickup element that outputs as the image signals image pickup light on which the object to be identified existing inside a predetermined portion of the living body is projected. Pseudo random numbers are generated by using the data as seeds. More specifically, e.g., differences between two image signals selected as a pair from a plurality of image signals output from the image pickup element are detected in sequence; by using one of the detected differences as a reference for comparison, the degrees of separation between the reference and the remaining differences are regarded as the seeds and pseudo random numbers are generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
