<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute format processing for a detachable storage medium connected to an image processor at the optimum timing such as the timing of connecting an unset storage medium to the image processor, without an indication from a user, and to sufficiently secure confidentiality of the storage medium removed from the image processor. <P>SOLUTION: The presence of a set user ID is determined in a removable HDD 1301 when a removable disk control part 212 detects the connection of the removable HDD, format processing for the removable HDD is executed when the user ID is determined not to be set, the user ID and a password are set to the format-processed removable HDD, a cipher key is generated for each of the user IDs, using the set user ID and password, and data is enciphered using the generated cipher key, when written in the removable HDD. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
