PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for mounting a liquid level detection apparatus and capable of preventing damage to the liquid level detection apparatus during its fixation work to a container of a holding member to which the liquid level detection apparatus is mounted. SOLUTION: In the structure for mounting the liquid level detection apparatus, a fuel level gauge 1 is arranged inside a contour line C of a fuel pump case 13 when viewed from the direction of an arrow in Fig.1, which is the direction of insertion of the fuel pump case 13 in a fuel tank 12, and the fuel pump case 13 is provided with a protector 13a to cover the fuel level gauge 1. It is thereby possible to reliably prevent the problem that a float 8 and an arm 7 are damaged by the contact of the fuel level gauge 1 with the edge of an opening hole 12a of the fuel tank 12 during the fixing work of the fuel pump case 13 to the fuel tank 12.
