PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot machine which enables players to visually recognize a prescribed array of figures accurately and easily by achieving a higher visual recognizability of the prescribed array thereof when reels are stopped and also enables not only the mere use of the establishment of the prescribed array thereof for announcement but also the alteration of the game state or the awarding of a profit to players by achieving the establishment of other arrays of figures different from the prescribed array thereof simultaneously with the establishment of the prescribed array thereof when the reels are stopped. SOLUTION: Valid lines and invalid lines are demarcated in a pattern display area and when the array of figures on the valid lines presents that of figures corresponding to the winning combination won by the lottery of a role lottery means, the array of figures on the invalid lines presents that of figures for decoration which can make the players recognize the winning of the winning combination.
