The leakage monitor system at a pipeline, to sound an alarm on a pressure drop, has a number of pressure sensors (P1-P5) along the pipeline linked to the monitor computer. The sensors are arranged in a group along the flow direction through the pipe in a monitor section (12), for their pressure signals to show a pressure drop wave. An alarm is suppressed if it is established that a pressure drop wave enters the monitor zone during a suppression time span.
