摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MEA capable of blocking or restraining flows of a fuel gas and an oxidizer gas in a peripheral space of an MEA body in an assembled form of a high polymer electrolyte fuel cell, simple in its structure and its manufacturing method and suitable for mass production, and also to provide its MEA manufacturing method, and a high polymer electrolyte fuel cell using the MEA. <P>SOLUTION: This MEA (membrane-electrode assembly) comprises: an MEA body part 5C; a frame body 6 formed of a plate-like thermoplastic resin; and gaskets 7 formed on both faces of the frame body 6 so as to sandwich the frame body 6. Each of the gaskets 7 comprises: an annular part 7A annularly formed along the inner edges of the frame body 6; and extension parts 7B1 to 7B8 formed so as to be extended from the annular part 7A and brought into contact with the side faces of an electrode layer 5C through the inner edge parts of the frame body 6 and the upper sides of the peripheral edge parts 5D of a high polymer electrolyte membrane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
