PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and its method capable of designing a lens without considering the zoom position or the zoom amount and restoring an image by a calculation of high accuracy. SOLUTION: The imaging device includes an optical unit 110 having a plurality of optical systems 110-1, 110-2 of different magnifications for forming a primary image, an imaging element 120, and an image processing device 150 for forming a final image of high accuracy from the primary image. In the image processing device 150, the kernel size used in convolution calculation and a coefficient used in the numeric calculation can be varied according to the magnification of the optical system. The kernel size known from input of an operation unit 190 or the like and appropriate for the magnification of the optical system and the aforementioned coefficients are correlated.
