PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of displaying a through image of good picture quality during manual focus adjustment and making it easy to visually judge a focusing state (focusing judgment etc.). SOLUTION: When a manual focus adjustment section 100 of a photographic lens 12 is operated, a CPU 64 of an electronic camera detects the operation from a manual operation signal outputted from the manual focus adjustment section 100. Then when manual focus adjustment is made by operating the manual focus adjustment section 100, a monochromatic (black-and-white) through image is displayed on a liquid crystal monitor 30 capable of color display. Consequently, it enables a photographer to make a focusing judgment etc., easily by viewing the through image displayed on the liquid crystal display monitor 30, and then while a processing load is lightened, a time lag of the through image etc., is reduced.
