PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner excellent in fixing property, having high transfer efficiency and ensuring little fog, and a method for manufacturing the toner. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the toner comprises: a step (I) of melt-kneading raw materials including a binder resin and a colorant; a step (II) of cooling and pulverizing a kneaded product obtained at the step (I); and a step (III) of classifying pulverized powder obtained at the step (II), wherein at least part of the pulverization in the step (II) is carried out in the presence of a fatty acid metal salt. In the toner obtained by the method, the yield of the fatty acid metal salt is≥40% of the fatty acid metal salt used in the step (II). COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
