摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out a flow measurement under such the condition that its measurement accuracy is lowered due to an error between a true propagation period and a period of a measurement in which a reception signal can not be received at a normal zero-cross point because of a change in a reception waveform caused by a failure of an ultrasonic transducer or the like. SOLUTION: A measuring apparatus is provided with; a pair of ultrasonic transducers 2a, 2b capable of transmitting and receiving an ultrasonic signal; a propagation period measuring section 5 for measuring a propagation period from a time when the ultrasonic signal is transmitted by one of the ultrasonic transducers, to a time when the ultrasonic signal propagating through a fluid is received by the other of the ultrasonic transducers; a control section which acquires a flow velocity and/or a flow volume of the fluid based on the propagation period; a reception waveform amplitude measuring section 9 which measures amplitudes of the reception waveform being received by the ultrasonic transducers and ranging from the first wave to the peak wave; and a display section 10 for displaying an abnormality when the change from the initial value in the amplitudes of the reception waveform becomes equal to or more than a prescribed value. When the amplitudes of the reception waveform are changed by the failure of the ultrasonic transducer, dew condensation, deposition of a foreign substance or the like, a measurement abnormality is displayed, thereby preventing the measurement from being carried out under such the condition that the measurement accuracy is lowered.
