PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with both high durability and high response. SOLUTION: An electromagnetic valve comprises a body 12 forming a fuel reservoir 22 in its inner peripheral side, a fixed core 30 fixed on the body 12, a movable core 40 arranged on an inner peripheral side of the body 12 while opposing to the fixed core 30, a side gap 44, in which fuel in the fuel reservoir 22 flows in and out, formed between inner peripheral surfaces 28 and 29 of the body 12 and an outer peripheral surface 43 of the movable core 40, a core gap 42, in which inflow and outflow of the fuel is throttled by a side gap 44, formed between an end face 35 at a movable core side of the fixed core 30 and an end face 41 at a fixed core side of the movable core 40, and a coil 82 for generating a magnetic flux which passes through the body 12, the side gap 44, the movable core 40, the core gap 42, and the fixed core 30. Mechanical surface treatment which enhances surface hardness is applied on at least one of the end face 35 at the movable core side of the fixed core 30 and the end face 41 at the fixed core side of the movable core 40.
