PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing sintered ore where the yield of sintered ore in both the edge parts in the width direction of a sintering pallet of sintered ore is improved, thus the yield of the whole of the sintered ore is improved without reducing productivity. SOLUTION: Regarding the method according to this invention, when a sintering raw material layer in which a sintering raw material is packed on a sintering pallet is fired, so as to produce sintered ore, a carbonaceous material is charged to the upper part of the sintering raw material layer in both the edge parts in the width direction of the sintering pallet, the carbonaceous material to be charged to the upper part of the sintering raw material layer is charged to the range of≥200 mm from the edge part of the sintering pallet and also to the range of≤700 mm from the edge part of the sintering pallet, so as to form a mixed layer in which at least a part of the sintering raw material and the carbonaceous material charged to the upper part of the sintering raw material are made into a mixed state, and thereafter, the firing is performed. Desirably, the mixed layer is formed in such a manner that, after the carbonaceous material is charged to the upper part of the sintering raw material layer on both the edge parts in the width direction of the sintering pallet, the surface of the sintering raw material layer is flattened, and the thickness of the mixed layer is preferably≤50 mm.
