PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous resin composition which can impart the excellent characteristics of a fluoropolymer, such as weather resistance, water repellency and stain resistance, to a non-fluorinated synthetic resin. SOLUTION: This aqueous resin composition suitable for coatings comprises a non-fluorinated synthetic resin (a) such as an acrylic resin, and a fluorine-containing rubber (b), such as a vinylidene fluoride-based rubber, in a smaller mass than that of the non-fluorinated synthetic resin (a).
