PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood purifier which is excellent in blood compatibility and selective permeability, has a well-balanced separation characteristic, and is excellent in capacity maintenance and stability at the time of a blood contact operation. SOLUTION: The blood purifier is manufactured by using a permselective hollow fiber membrane which is mainly comprised of a polysulfone-based polymer and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), has a skin layer of 0.1-1.2μm, has the PVP content in an external outermost layer is 25-50 mass% and has (the PVP content in the external outermost layer)/(the PVP content in the internal outermost layer)≥1.1, and the blood purifier simultaneously satisfies the following characteristics. (1) A sieving coefficient [A] of albumin at 15 minutes after flowing the specific bovine blood of 37°C by the specific flow rate is 0.01 or more and 0.1 or less. (2) A sieving coefficient [B] of albumin at 2 hours after the same is 0.005 or more and 0.04 or less. (3) The coagulation of the enclosed blood and the plugging of the hollow fiber membrane due to the coagulation are not generated after enclosing the specific bovine blood in the hollow fiber membrane and immersing the same in an isotonic solution for 10 minutes.
