<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively obtain an optical fiber protection device, which eliminates the need of a molding die for injection molding or the like even for manufacturing a protective member, thereby reducing the initial cost in a small-lot production, and which has a function equivalent to that of a device produced by injection molding or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber protection device comprises a chassis having an aperture on an end face, an optical fiber led from the inside of the chassis through the aperture to the outside of the chassis, and a tape member wound on the optical fiber in several turns. The number of winding turns of the tape member on the optical fiber is gradually decreased between the end face and a position apart from the end face with an increase in the distance from the end face. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
