<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knock-type writing utensil of a simple structure, with its large overall length convertible to a small overall length. <P>SOLUTION: This knock-type writing utensil is equipped with a retraction mechanism which retracts the tip part of a refill for a writing utensil arranged slidably by biasing the refill in the barrel rear end direction by a spring in the barrel, from an opening at the apex of the barrel by pressing an ejector projecting from the rear end of the barrel. The barrel is composed of at least, a forward barrel section, an intermediate barrel section and a rear barrel section, and the retraction mechanism is arranged in the rear barrel and the intermediate barrel is connectable detachably. In addition, the forward barrel and the rear barrel are connectable with each other, and the writing utensil can be converted to two different kinds of knock-type writing utensils with a varying overall length by removing the intermediate barrel and engaging the forward barrel with the rear barrel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
