<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reception system capable of efficiently sharing limited tuner resources and preventing the occurrence of confusion in users at tuner contention. <P>SOLUTION: In a tuner share television system comprising a master unit including different types of tuners and slave units for receiving a video image from the master unit, the master unit checks a share state of the tuners in response to station selection requests from the slave units depending on broadcast types (BS, CS, terrestrial wave or the like), when a contention of the tuners takes place, the master unit filters a program included in a transponder whose channel is the same as the channel selected by the slave unit being a contention destination, and generates an EPG menu from the filtered program and displays the menu on the slave unit. In this case, the system is characterized in to carry out a resource arbitration processing whereby channel selection in a form of simultaneous viewing is attained when a user of the slave unit being the contention destination admits the simultaneous viewing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
