<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant crash protection device at lateral overturn of a vehicle effectively suppressing generation of neck injury while suppressing generation of head disorder at lateral overturn of the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A roof airbag 10 deployed along a head lining 3 at a portion just above the occupant C is deployed from the outer side in a vehicle width direction to the inner side by detection of vehicle body rolling reaching the lateral overturn of the vehicle 2. A lower surface 10a of the roof air bag 10 is inclined to a downward part of the vehicle from a distal end in a deployment direction toward a base end part and the roof airbag 10 is formed in an approximately wedge-like shape in view in a vehicle longitudinal direction as a whole. Thereby, before the head Ch interferes with the head lining 3 in the lateral overturn, since the head part Ch can be inclined inwardly in a vehicle width direction by an inclination surface of the roof airbag 10, generation of injury of the neck Cn can be also effectively suppressed while suppressing generation of the head disorder by shock-absorption action of the roof airbag 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
