PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic wiring method, device and program, permitting efficient wiring and improved wiring performance in a restricted region, such as one between macros. SOLUTION: This automatic wiring method includes setting a wiring direction restricted region which uses a predetermined direction as its wiring direction in the region between the macros, and searching a wiring path between terminals. When the wiring path passes through the wiring direction restricted region, wiring passing through the wiring direction restricted region is laid along the wiring direction and when the wiring path passes through only one end of the wiring direction restricted region, first wiring passing through one end of the wiring direction restricted region and second wiring toward a different direction from the wiring direction in the wiring direction restricted region are laid along the wiring direction.
