PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a downsized projector in which efficiency in dissipating heat generated in the device is high. SOLUTION: The projector 1 has a device main body 2. The device main body 2 includes: a light emitting source 4; a housing 23 for accommodating the light emitting source 4; a heat transfer means 16 by which heat generated from the light emitting source 4 in the internal part 23b of the housing 23 and a power source section 9 is transferred to the outside of the housing 23; and a heat-source-side heat connecting section 17 disposed outside the housing 23 so as to be exposed and connected to the heat transfer means 16. The projector 1 also has a portable case 21 in which a first heat dissipating means 3 is provided for an approximately box-like case main body that has an inner space 22a in which the device main body 2 can be accommodated. The first heat dissipating means 3 comprises: a heat-dissipation-side heat connecting section 18 connectable to the heat-source-side heat connecting section 17; a heat transfer member 20 for transferring the heat of the heat-dissipation-side heat connecting section 18; and a heat dissipating member 19 for dissipating heat transferred by the heat transfer member 20.
